The second meeting of e-PRODAT in l’Aquila

The project, aimed to build a web based observatory of best practices on e-Government and Data Protection and part-financed by the European Union through its INTERREG IIIC program, celebrated the second meeting of its steering committee in l’Aquila (Regione Abruzzo, Italy) last 30th September.

At its l’Aquila meeting, the steering committee of e-PRODAT has approved the works developed since its kick off last February, including the questionnaire on Data Protection and e-Government to be fulfilled by participant Region and Cities, as well as the web site www.eprodat.org.

The steering committee also approved the activity report, and decided the planned activities for the next semester, including the preparation of an assessment on Data protection and e-Government in European Regions and Cities – which will be distributed to all participants – building an initial list of best practices, a drafting operational procedures for the future observatory of best practices on e-Government and Data Protection; work plans for Building Project Materials and the Communication of Results.

Finally, all partners decided that the next steering committee will take place in Bologna (Italy), on 10th February 2006.

e-PRODAT is a European project, part-financed by the European Union through its INTERREG IIIC program, aimed at promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Data Protection Authorities and other public bodies concerning the protection of personal data used by Governments and Public Administrations for the provision of public services, and specially those related to e-Government or based on the Internet, helping in particular to create best practices recommendations in this area. Its leader is the Data Protection Agency of the Community of Madrid.
